TD Ameritrade Representative, Operations Control Reconciliation in Omaha, Nebraska

Books and Records is an area that is looked at extensively by every regulatory body and every audit that comes through TD Ameritrade. Having a good reconciliation process is essential in maintaining a good rapport with our regulatory and audit partners, as well as protecting the client assets.

The Operations Control Rep will spend his/her day performing reconciliations of general ledger accounts and or client trading accounts. This involves getting data from internal and external systems and comparing the data sets in order to determine differences. Once the differences are identified, the Operations Control Rep will contact the appropriate area and ensure the differences are resolved in a timely manner. He/she will monitor daily balances to determine variances and follow through with Clearing Operations to determine causes.

  • Reconciliation of general ledger accounts, operations facilitation, suspense accounts

  • Reconciliation of client accounts active trading systems (ToS)

  • Proper archival and distribution of reconciliation results

  • Analysis of breaks between back office and active trade platform

  • Analysis of breaks between the firm and bank counterparties such as Wells Fargo, First National Bank of Omaha, and JP Morgan/Chase

  • Analysis of breaks between firm and custodians (DTCC, JP Morgan, Mutual Fund companies.)

  • Investigation of the root cause of breaks and large variances with internal clients to resolve issues and resolution in a timely manner

  • Troubleshooting reconciliation report failures and work with leadership to improve efficiency of reconciliation report function

  • Work with business partners (For example, Settlements, Payment Services, Mutual Funds, etc.) to address and resolve the root cause of breaks

  • Deliver reconciliation reports to various business partners

  • Respond via email and phone effectively and professionally to inquiries from business partners

  • Participate in the testing phase of new projects as assigned

  • Ability to prepare complete work product taking process to next logical step

  • Thorough understanding of brokerage industry

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Excel

  • Series 7 and 63 preferred

  • 2 Year College Degree

  • 4 Year College Degree in Accounting/Finance preferred

  • 1+ years Reconciliation experience preferred

  • 3+ years Brokerage Operations experience preferred

  • Military education or experience may be considered in lieu of civilian requirements listed
