ABOUT THIS JOB:
Senior Database Support Specialist with main focus using analytical and troubleshooting skills to provide project participation, support continuity, and rotating on-call escalation. You will also lead detection and troubleshooting of issues that affect delivery of services for industry leading Digital Consumer Experience products. Partnership and creativity are meaningful to this role. As a go-to point of critical issue you will be challenged with resolving card holder impacting issues in a dynamic environment.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
Provide system administration and support for existing environments to include performance of the following related tasks: software installation, patch installation, upgrades, query writing, configuration, security, system monitoring and tuning, disaster recovery planning, and release deployments.
Maintain Oracle databases, including all production, backup and development files. Support databases across internal and end-user applications improve database integrity through quality assurance and manages change control processes related to the Oracle environment.
Promote database changes through various environments as part of the software development lifecycle.
Analyzing existing database applications for improvements, database tuning & monitoring, working with application developers to integrate efforts with relational databases, participate in team or company projects as required, maintain state-of-the-art knowledge of existing standard methodologies in database administration, is primary for disaster recovery exercises, capacity planning and provides 24 x 7 on-call support.
Develop batch jobs using shell scripting and SQL, as well as stored procedures using PL/SQL, to load data files, craft reports, or build other custom jobs as requested by clients or the Product team. Scheduling and monitoring of batch jobs and correcting issues with failed batch jobs.

At least 7+ years’ experience working with Oracle databases in an enterprise environment.
At least 7+ years working with Oracle WebLogic and Tuxedo
Working knowledge of Disaster Recovery requirements and processes; specifically knowledge of Oracle Data Guard.
Familiarity with Oracle archive and redo logs.
Oracle performance tuning
Strong knowledge of SQL, SQLPLUS and PL/SQL
Ability to develop and troubleshoot shell scripts as needed.
Comfortable in a dynamic high-energy environment with strong personal composure and crisis-management skills.
Proven, responsive and proactive interpersonal skills (verbal and written) to succinctly and directly summarize and document issues, projects, protocols and processes including regular submission of clear, standardized reports to management and peers.
Experience working with vendors to tackle and escalate issues.
Knowledge of Solaris operating system environments.
Knowledge and experience with database capacity planning
Ability to craft, analyze and trouble-shoot queries.
Ability to provide 24x7 on-call support
Ability to support development team by promoting database applications and code in cooperation with software change manager
