WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Highway/Roadway Engineer for our Lincoln, Nebraska office.
Responsibilities include participating in and leading multi-disciplinary teams on transportation designs, plan production, managing project tasks and budgets, preparation and development of project scope of work and cost proposals and other duties as required. The position will focus on transportation design, however, projects will include a combination of roadway design, drainage, utilities, and site design as well as other areas. Strong experience in the use of design software such as MicroStation, GEOPAK, InRoads, AutoCAD software is preferred.
The position requires a professional engineering license in the State of Nebraska or the ability to obtain the license within six months of hire.

Possess a high level of technical expertise
Serve as Project Manager and/or Task Lead
Successfully manage numerous assignments at one time
Prepare high-quality documents and plans
Supports marketing activities to include information gathering, personal contacts, and proposal development including preparation of scope, fee and schedules
Have demonstrated ability to grow a business and retain clients
Have demonstrated experience as a team member working with other scientists, planners, engineers, project managers and other project staff
Have demonstrated excellent writing skills
Demonstrated experience with NDOR and/or other DOT’s, municipal and county roadway and highway design
Experience with MicroStation and GEOPAK, AutoTURN, Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project, and Adobe software
Experience with AASHTO guidance (roadway, bicycles, roadside safety, etc., ADA/PROWAG design requirements
Demonstrated doer-seller skills, with excellent verbal and writing ability
Knowledge of the interrelationship of design and federal permitting (NEPA, NPDES, 404, etc.)
Experience with hydrology and hydraulic analysis and design
Demonstrated ability, experience, and motivation to work collaboratively in teams
The position will require a minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience with similar work
