Under limited supervision, plans, coordinates and monitors, Employment & Training programs including the H-1B Ready to Work Partnership grant (CONNECT grant), Statewide Business Service Strategies and Sector Strategy Initiatives.

Hours: 8-5, Monday - Friday.

Job location is 550 South 16th Street, Downtown.

Examples of Work

Compiles, analyzes, and summarizes demographic, financial, resource information for stakeholders, including other agencies and the public. Identifies and evaluates goals, needs, and activities of programs and projects, and monitors/certifies programs for compliance with existing regulations and policies. Trains and advises agency staff in program planning, implementation, policies, and guidelines to improve performance. Confers with agency staff and representatives of state, local and public agencies and community organizations to exchange information pertinent to program operations. Plans, coordinates, and monitors the Nebraska CONNECT grant program and related work as assigned/required. Responsible for coordination of program development with One-Stop Operators, Department of Economic Development, Department of Education and other WIOA partners to align Business Service strategies to meet business demands and workforce needs. Identifies strategies and partnerships to expand Sector Strategy initiatives across the state. Develops system and program solutions to incorporate Work-Based Learning opportunities with schools, colleges, communities and local employers. May coordinate and implement special projects and grants on behalf of the Nebraska Department of Labor; performs related work as assigned or required. Regular travel to Omaha is expected on approximately a bi-weekly basis.

Qualifications / Requirements

REQUIREMENTS: Associates degree in human services, behavioral sciences, social sciences, public administration, business administration or closely related field AND three years experience in an employment, job development, or job training agency/program with responsibility for planning and coordinating program operations, or monitoring and evaluating delivery of program services. Related experience may substitute for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. Some travel.

PREFERRED: Bachelors degree in business, public administration or related academic major.

OTHER: Valid driver's license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Skilled in: Communicating with variety of individuals; preparing/presenting information to an audience; Microsoft Office (Outlook, Access, Word, Excel and Power Point) and SharePoint, Google Docs; NEworks or other related software. Ability to: deliver multiple programs; work independently; interact with diverse groups and organizations.
