The Nebraska Department of Veterans' Affairs is seeking a dynamic, organized communicator to develop and maintain a strategic employee training program encompassing all areas within the State's newest agency. This position will be based in Lincoln and will be responsible for developing and overseeing agency-wide training programs focusing on a variety of topics, including but not limited to new employee orientation, effective customer service, practical implementation of policies/programs, clinical training, technical training and many other areas.

Examples of Work

Please note – qualified applicants must be a Registered Nurse (RN), as the position will supervise and provide direction to Clinical Nurse Trainers at Veterans' Homes across the State of Nebraska in addition to directing all agency training needs.

The hiring rate is $27.950/ hour; with additional pay based on verified years of experience.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated history of experience that supports the ability to formulate and implement a strategic training program that will serve multiple locations and training needs, from basic skills to complex policies and practices. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications / Requirements

REQUIREMENTS: A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Nebraska or authority based on the Nurse Licensure Compact to practice as a registered nurse in Nebraska and education or experience in planning, developing, conduction and evaluating training or adult development courses and training adult learners.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of: adult training and development, principles and practices of employee development programs, curriculum development, program management and training evaluation techniques; clinical policies and practices and equipment relative to facility clinical programs. Ability to: research, develop and present learning opportunity programs, evaluate the effectiveness of training courses, effectively present training courses and communicate ideas or principles, supervise subordinate staff.
